Also, stick with it. _Everyone_ goes through the "What the heck??" phase
when checking out MetaCard. It's a fact of life, and we've all learned to
get past it. The development environment has good points to go along with

I would have done the same if i had not just dived in and tried to make
my own application first. i have had very bad luck with tutorials for the
very reasons you outlined with metacard. stick with mc, if you need to
create powerful apps, you can with mc. you can do anything and more
