icons, work fine in Rev 2.7.4.
Anyone else experiencing this, or has anyone else successfully built a
Windows standalone with icons in 2.7.4?

But I still can't get a stack to search its own fields. Are field
searches a GUI thing that is impossible in an mt script?
yes.
I see. I would have thought that MC would recognize where the fields
were and their text, even if it wasn't bothering

And debugging is a pain in the butt. :)
Yes, we should get at least a line/word number in an error message but
since the number of Metacard/CGI users is 4 so far, I don't expect we
can dare ask for features.
I think you might find that there are a lot
were sorted out up front.

They both do the same thing using the same engine, maybe not too obvious
to you, except that Metacard is stable and the development environment
is geared towards a more mature audience.
Mature?

Mature?
Well yes, Metacard is a simple, efficient, stable development
environment

Do we love the dot notation, or do we not? ;-)
Serious question?
As an option - yes. The main 'problem' I have is remembering to
forget it when I'm not using Director.

Well then what's the deal with Revolution? I thought it was a GUI
sitting on top of MC (ie, alone Revolution would not function, it
requires mc to be present).
It requires the MetaCard *engine*, but not the MetaCard *product*.
But if they leased it then how can they sell the same
is the FreeGUI item you are seeking. If you
have any further need of assistance, don't hesitate to ask.
