May everyone have a bountiful banquet of yummy achondrites, luscious
lunaites, and good spirits sprinkled with Merry Martian dust. :)
Happy Thanksgiving. And if you don't celebrate that holiday, then
have a couple fingers of good bourbon and a fat cigar just for the
heck of it. ;)

Classic classroom quality example of the presentation of delusion. Someone
charged with teaching our budding young -ists should copy all this and use it
as an example. There is nothing save extensive psychotherapy perhaps involving
drug intervention, that will help this fellow recognize reality.
It's getting harder and harder to argue ignorance...

Don't you just love those S. Curry type meteorite experts.

Hi Paul and Anne,
Interesting that Anne would have the issue on Comcast; I am on Comcast and
never had a problem. Anne is only 60 miles from me and is running an ipv6
address and I am on still on ipv4 both on the Comcast network.
You just never know with these providers!

Excellent Explanation Paul!!
And it actually makes sense. Yes, the problem started right after I
switched to Comcast (cable provider here).
You should go help Google, their explanation explained nothing at all.
And don't fire the idiot-programmer. Yet.
Thanks.

Hello List.
One of the causes of "500" errors when accessing the MPOD was IPv6 addresses.
What's that, you ask?
An IP address uniquely defines an Internet node, which is any piece of Data

Paul,
Given the 500 error returned it can't be a client side error if the URL is
valid. Do you have access to the server error logs? A look in there might
shed more light on what is actually breaking the delivery of the resource.

John

More like the story was cooked up by the dad, and possibly the son too. Or,
the son was doing something he should not have been doing, got hurt, and he
cooked up the meteorite story by himself.
OR - someone beaned the kid with a shower of stones that were hurled by a
slingshot.

Hello Anne and all,
Have you contacted your Cable provider ?
I don't see you mentioning it.
There might be a setting that blocks some internet links
since the box/router usually has a Firewall.
(or other setting related to your connection to your cable provider)
Bon courage !

There was a facebook discussion on this. NO WAY those tiny stones caused that
big gash The stones are several grams at most and could not have falling
fast enough to cause that injury, nor anything close to that (even if you
combined all the little frags into one stone).

Hi Anne, Rob,
I had the same problem and finally solved it this way:
Never start the MPOD with its link from the met-list.
Put the address (www.tucsonmeteorites.com/mpodmain.asp?wyd=) to your
favorite websites in your browser.
Empty your cache, once you get the message 500 Internal server error
