Imagine my surprise when I saw my Google Earth Doppler radar composite
of the September 2nd Cosmos 2495 reentry over Colorado and Wyoming
pop up as one of the graphics in Brian Williams' top story on the NBC
Nightly News tonight. ;-) The story wasn't completely accurate -- Brian

If these are true, then the same phenomemon will be seen on other planets, by

Interesting stuff but I believe he's a bit off by calling the huge
Hoba iron-nickel meteorite (and other Hoba-like material he believes
is nearby) fragments from a comet. This stuff comes from asteroids.
