Well said Andy! Meteorite prices are not fixed, so every dealer has the
choice, to sell "low-priced" or "high-priced"! It´s up to the collectors to
decide which prices they want to pay!
For me it´s a wonder, that very beautiful and well praparated specimens are
not higher in price compare
Well said, Christian!

I´m sure that there are a lot of mistakes in the darkness of classifi-cation
and I´m also sure that we all have this feeling from time to time.
If there is a stone in my collection, let´s say a R3.8 and I see a stone on
the table of a dealer, which shows the same characteristic f
Hi List!
A very good business strategy: If you put it next to your BONSAI, it will
start to rust away and you need a new one..

I´ve seen a lot of weathered rocks like this in Namibia (mostly
lime-stones). But I wouldn´t expect this sort of weathering in France. To
check it out put a little drop of acid (HCl 10% or less) on the surface.
Make sure, that there is no dirt on the surface of the rock (could contain

I´ve never seen a orbicular granite but I´ve seen a orbicular diorite (so
called "Klotgranit") near Slättemossa/Sweden. Diorites have more plagioclase
and only a few of the quartz amount of a granite. If you mean granite type
called "Rapakiwi" (rounded K-feldspar with plagioclase rims)

Hi Listees!
I´ve heared that someone had made a scarab of a lunar meteorite (HORROR!!!)!
Has someone a picture of it? Bua! I only know a old egyptian
LDG-scarab.
I´m searching for all cruelties on meteorites also! So if you have some
pics, please send them to me.

I´m not sure what the meaning of "Metachondrite" is, but in geology "Meta-"
stands for metamorphosis. So perhaps the person, who used this word, wanted
to make clear, that this chondrite is complete changed in something else or
more than other chondrites (shock is common). It´s n
