[meteorite-list] Holbrook Boy

2003-01-31 Thread James O'Roark
Just wondering, who was the boy who came into the diner (?) saying that it was raining rocks? Is he still alive and has he ever been interviewed? Jim in San Juan Capistrano __ Meteorite-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pairlist.net/mail

[meteorite-list] Meteor of Space Junk

2002-03-04 Thread James O'Roark
Just saw a nice firball, 7:05 PM California time, traveling from NW to SE and spanning from Capella in Auriga past Jupiter and winking out with a wiggle at Sirius. Orangey-red in color the whole way but no trail. Meteor or space junk? Jim __ Meteor

Re: [meteorite-list] Why is the sky blue?

The color of sunset is also due to the scattering of red light by dust, pollutants and salt particles (for those near the sea). The tangential path of the sunlight through the atmosphere at sunrise or sunset allows for more scattering by these particles.   Jim -Original Message-From
