Unfortunately for most of these asteroid impact scenarios, there is NO hard evidence
that the dinosaurs were eradicated in a single catastrophic event that scorched or
enshrouded the earth for a few short months or years. To be sure, those creatures
appear to have died out in a geologic "instan

Yes, I read that article about Branson's passenger flights into space---however, the
ticket price is rather steep, and with very little ROI. Nearly $200,000 per person

I'm surprised that nobody in South Carolina offered a seismic explanation for the
booming and house-rattling. It's not widely publicized, but South Carolina is the
most likely site in the country for a catastrophic earthquake (forget California).

My contention is NOT that such a transfer is impossible, especially over billions of
Earth years. But I think it extraordinarily unlikely that the infant Mars could---in
the first 300 to 500 million years of solar system formation---evolve a hearty
population of anaerobic bacteria (capable of s

Ah, that would put my mind at rest: "Officials have determined possible sources of the
blasts, but don't know exactly, so concerned residents have no need to complain
anymore." Right.
Allow me to propose a possible source: Practical jokers placing bombs in the treetops.

The "life from Mars" fanatics make several leaps of faith in imagining Martian "space
seeds," full of viable bacteria, raining down from our skies. If we accept that the
solar planets are all basically the same age, and life first appeared here a few
hundred million years after Earth's formatio

What's a good source for etching compounds, such as concentrated nitric acid? Is a 6m
nitric too heavy for etching? Something lighter, maybe 1m nitric? Thanks for your
