Hello all, I want to manufacture a meteorite ring from an iron meteorite. I
have found that
Gibeon is prefered because of its stability. I have etched some slices of it
and noticed that it also suffers from rusting.
Does the meteorite ring found on the market have a special coating for
It rust, as i've seen not as rapidly as others, but it rust. Saw a few of those
rings coated with lucite.
Best regards,
Leo

Thanks for the advising, pictures, and links sent. Is nice to see that other
people share the same idea. But how about mixing gold with meteorite dust
(converting the same martian example into dust)? Also how much will be enough
to make it noticeable on this way?

Hello, Richard and all;
Johan Rust makes rings out of meteorite inlaid in titanium. He uses
Gibeon. He does beautiful work. My daughter is getting married May 1st
and her fiance has one of his rings.
Here is a link to his site: http://kdmeteorites.com/JewelryByJohan.html
Congratulations!
Hi Dana,
I just looked at Johan's website, and he does great work. Those are
some beautiful pieces.
But he really needs a new banner graphic - his graphic is not nearly
as good as his jewelry.
Tell him to contact Brad Nault to have a graphic made - www.bnault.com

My fiance' recently (and with no encouragement by me) came across rings made of
meteoritic iron and asked me if I would be interested in such a ring for my
wedding band. She had never seen them before and I of course hadn't even
considered bringing the idea up, but since she thinks its a great
