METEORITE FALLS HERE
A number of Oshkosh people saw a large meteorite fall in the vicinity
of Oshkosh last evening about 8:30 o'clock. A young man who resides on
Washington street said it appeared to be moving swiftly from west to east,
descending lower as it moved along. It was brilliant with yellow and violet
light. Finally it appreared to exploded, the pieces shooting out like
skyrockets and then seemed to burn itself out. Efforts were made today to
get trace of any segments that may have landed in this locality but without
success.
