Boulder Now Marks Spot Where Meteor Fell.
On the Lee farm a couple of miles north of Estherville a boulder
suitably inscribed has been placed, marking the spot where the meteor fell
May 10th, 1879. Upon the bronze tablet are inscribed these words. "The
Estherville Meteorite fell 432 feet due east of this spot on May 10, 1879.
It was one of the three greatest falls on record. Parts of the meteorite
are found in important museums of the world. Erected 1929 by Okomanpado
Chapter D. A. R."
