I believe John may have answered the technical issue. This approach is ok,
although we have come up with a way to migrate "opening balances" for loans

We get asked for that a lot, but unfortunately, writing up a db schema and
spec has been a low priority. So mostly what we have is anecdotal posts in
the mailing lists, on the website, and through-out past fixed bugs.

To clarify, the Batch Jobs for the Batch Progress Report create records for
the day of. IE, often you expect Batch jobs to run information for the
previous day (IE, I can't see yesterdays information until today), but for
the Branch Progress Report, it runs for the day.
