Hi all
I have one 433ah with bridge only. It has 6 wds connect to it.
I saw that the spu use it is alwys at 40% and some time gone to 90%
Can someone tell me why? Are there any method that i can see what is using

I think someone asked if the CPU spikes were fixed in 5.10. The answer is no.
Also it seems snmp is slower to respond, I had to adjust timers in Zenoss to
stop getting alarms of snmp down or a snmp command failed.

I'm looking at a new x86 router. My 3 CPU options are:
Pentium 4 631 3.0G
E4300 Core2Duo 1.8 GHz
E6400 Core2Duo 2.13
My old one has the P4. Is there any reason to go up to the Core2Duo in
terms of performance gain?

The P4 is a single core, right?
Any time you can get multiple cores working, mult-threaded things just
work better. We have had good luck with a core i5 (2500), which has 4
cores. Very snappy, and multi-threading works great.

Correct, it is single core. Being Linux I expect multiple cores help,
being as it is more ps based (opposed to Windows being thread based).

Hey...
What is this going to be used for? Why are you looking at "old" CPU's???
By a nice i5 or i7 CPU for only a little extra... the horsepower
difference between the i series and the core2duo is HUGE.
Also, the i-series chips draw less power.

I have a PowerEdge 750 with a P4 2.4 single core and 2GB RAM. It is
functioning as my BGP Edge Router. I have had these servers running
RouterOS for a long time and RouterOS is so tiny it will run in RAM.

My fav right now is the 9400 from Titan Wireless:
Six (6) Front Mounted Gigabit Ethernet Ports
One (1) Front Mounted Exp Mod for Fiber or more Copper Ports
Intel 3.8GHz Q9400 Core2Quad Processor
4 GB DDR3 RAM
I think Butch also has one that is similar on his site...

I really need 3 ports...but more is always good. How long have you
had the 9400 running?
What ROS version(s)?

Chuck, It's actually a i7-2600 cpu. Titan's website is wrong.. It also
has a pci express slot you could use to add some more ports on the
back.
Josh, We replaced our MikroNOC 8400 with the MikroNOC 9400 29 days
ago. It's running 5.22.
The old 8400 had an uptime over 6 months when it decided to re
Cool, thanks for the info. I'm thinking I'll go with the 8400 based on the
price point. Interested in selling yours used? =)

I don't think you'll go wrong with the 8400.
Nah, I have plans for it. I'm going to replace a 7500 with the 8400,
then replace a PR732 with that 7500, then replace a RB1000 with the
PR732.. Everything gets handed down to a smaller site until its either
broken or completely obsolete.

Well since the PR732 was my other option I think I'll stick with the 8400
since it has an SFP.

It's been up since we got it, 28d uptime, v5.22.

Looks like the Management profile is consuming the cycles. What could that
be?
