Actually it is quite a deep concept.
How TCP "guesses" the bandwidth is quite a challenge.
And often TCP gets it wrong.

Wow, that was an excellent read. Thanks for posting it, Lars.
Hi.
I'm running 4.4-current (GENERIC.MP). When I power on the system
and boot, the dmesg shows a pretty high frequency for CPU0 (2562 MHz).
CPU1 shows what I would expect (2135 MHz).
If I reboot, the dmesg shows normal values again for both cores (see
results below). It seems to stay this way b

As Otto mentioned, read up on 'bandwidth delay product'. There's higher
network latency between the remote sites vs hosts on the local

You forgot to attach your patch to implement this "feature".

Hi all,

would like to use one on openbsd (french version of the keyboard) and
would like to know if it could work.

Hello everybody,
I'm experiencing a very bad network performance, when I try to connect
to a remote server.
The point-to-point connection is a E3 line, with 34MBit/s, with a cisco 2800
router on each side, terminating the point-to-point connection.
These cisco routers have two gigabit interfaces,
"sudo which slaptest" will tell you where in your PATH slaptest is. add that to
your root's PATH and it will work.
also, depending on you are invoking the root shell .profile might not be
executed at all.

Hello misc@,
Compiled freshly checked out -current from 10/23/08 -- no sound.
Looked through mixerctl and audioctl outputs, didn't find anything
interesting.
Downgraded azalia_codec.c to 1.49
azalia.h to 1.15
azalia.c to 1.55
recompiled kernel -- sound works again.
If needed,
