You know the message that says You have new mail in /var/mail/user.
I tried, as bash manual says, to add variable MAILPATH to profile but doesn't
do the job. There's no biff in ps command output, anyway i tried also with

As you already know, that feature doesn't exist. cron should help this
time -if you have any faith at all in its granularity!-.
You'd better write some kind of daemon to help updating those pf tables
on the fly...
