Hello, I noticed another thread discussing the same controller (SAS1068E) and wanted it to be known the same (hanging) problem exists on the Dell R300. We do not have the slow disk performance discussed on the X4150. The hang is only reliably reproduced after 72 days of uptime. We have about 10 of these devices running and none of them have ever made it to 73 days of uptime without experiencing the complete system hang problem.
Our definition of hang: * ssh - socket connects but no login prompt * carp - still sends out carp messages and stays master * syslog - somehow there are still logs with timestamps after the hang (so it seems the system is still able to write just not read) Basically it seems like everything that doesn't require a read of the disk works. Everything that does require read hangs indefinitely. The only way to restore the box is by cycling the power.
