bwi slow start

it is up, the network first comes up for about 10-30 seconds, in that time, all ping works fine. Then, the network stops working, I cannot even ping my AP. It stuck in this state for about 1 or 2 minutes, then everything works fine again. Does anyone know what is wrong? Thanks, Jingshao Chen
