Fresh install, used entire disk for OpenBSD, and automatic
partitioning layout.

I know entire disk works with intel Macs, and I remember that
there was some discussion of entire partition working on PPC
Macs back when Apple went pure insane. But does entire disk
work with all PPC Macs?

If so, what does one do instead of ofwboot, since there is no
PCBIOS and the 4-DOS-partition paradigm doesn't hold?

And, which machines does entire partition work on?

Here is the dmesg from a macmini g4 ppc, working just fine since quite some years. Just follow the instructions from the manual pages to install:

I did NOT move ofwboot to the boot partition with
OSX, I didn't read that part of the install notes until after I
installed. I moved ofwboot by booting off cd, mounting wd0, and moving
it manually from the cd.

Did you do that from Mac OS or from openbsd?

ofwboot should be on a HFS / HFS+ ("Mac OS Extended"/"Mac OS Extended
(Journaled)" in Disk Utility) partition, preferably the 1st one on the boot disk. Have you
copied ofwboot to the HFS partition or in the OpenBSD / ?

I moved it to wd0a, assuming this was the correct partition. Is it not?

What format is wd0a? HFS+? or openbsd's native format? (What was it, now, I
wish I weren't losing my memory.)

Anyway, I'm thinking that wd0a is probably not a place you'll be able to talk
the open firmward boot ROM into reading ofwboot from. Especially if you used
the default partitioning scheme.
