My apologies for this being OT but google so far has not yieleded the
needed results. I have the opportunity buy a used Snap Server 1000 at
an attractive price. Attractive because it has no power cord and no
hard drive. I can resolve teh power cord issue, but I'm having
problems finding info about replacing the drive. At first it appeared
you could not just go out and buy a drive,
Meridian/Quantum/Snap/Adaptec did something to prevent it, but then I
found a few sites that said it could be done. Two said you just
plugged in a new hard drive, which seemed just too good to be true.
The others had a link to a solution but those links are dead.

I was considering one of these devices as a means to backup various
data from my OBSD machine. Is there anyone on the list who can comment
on installing an after market drive in a Snap 1000?
