Thank you for all your replys and comments.
In 4.6 everything work perfect, so what happen 4.6 -> 4.7, it need more mem?

you don't want blacklist-only mode if you have limited RAM.

As you can read from the first lines of the upgrade guides, "Upgrades
are only supported from one release to the release immediately
following it. Do not skip releases." It is very likely that this is
the cause of your problems.

Hi,
During a manual migration (installation with 4.3 CD, and renew the
configuration manually), I get this error message:
# pfctl -f pf.conf
pfctl: failed to create table __automatic_e11ee055_282 in : Cannot allocate
memory
pfctl in free(): error: chunk is already free
Abort trap (core dumped)
I had a 4.0 system where this was happening all the time. Back then,
everyone said to "update to 4.1!". Well now I'm running 4.2 (stable)
and it's happening all over again. I reduced my blacklists from
nixspam:uatraps:china:korea
to just
uatraps:china:korea
and it's still happening.
This is
I'm running spamd in blacklist mode, and it started running out of
memory today. It turns out the lists are getting close to the default
limit:
# /usr/libexec/spamd-setup -b -d
Getting http://www.openbsd.org/spamd/traplist.gz
blacklist uatraps 157348 entries
Getting http://www.openbsd.org/spam
entries
Getting http://www.openbsd.org/spamd/traplist.gz
blacklist uatraplist 45380 entries
Getting http://www.openbsd.org/spamd/nixspam.gz
blacklist nixspam 39983 entries
# pfctl: Cannot allocate memory.
I know that there's not much shared memory in my system (and it's a slow
machine),

You have to increase the max number of table entries with "set limit
table-entries " in pf.conf.

Hello.
I've been running spamd with greylisting for a few
weeks.
Today, I am getting 'pfctl: Cannot allocate memory'
Follow-up.
I googled previously and read a bunch of posts
relating to 3.6, 3.7 & 3.8.
More info.

since upgrading to openbsd 3.8
I noted my spamd was not blocking, looked closer and with me
using the CBL table (huge) trying
spamd-setup gave this response:
pfctl Cannot allocate memory
The spamd is loading okay so long as I don't use a whopper
table like the CBL,

google tells me, that this issue is quite well discused; after all you
can try to split this file into smaller chunks.
