tried i386 with PAE, during dmesg it has:
real mem = 12884197376 (12582224K)
avail mem = 2784165888 (2718912K)
You should have all the RAM (from real mem) available. It's just
reporting on avail mem on boot that's not entirely correct. That's
what mickey@ told me at least.
