Subject: City of Springfield News Release - Online Survey for "Listening
Tour" Input
To: t.ma...@gmail.com

The City of Springfield wants to invite anyone interested in Springfield’s
future to participate in an online survey to complement the Listening Tours
underway to gather input for the city’s next long-range strategic plan.

The four-question survey is available at: listen.questionpro.com

City Manager Greg Burris has been holding Listening Tour meetings with a
variety of community groups and will continue with more of them after the
holidays.

The online survey questions are the same as the ones he asks participants at
each meeting:

   - What do you value most about Springfield;
   - What would you like to change;
   - What is your vision for the year 2030; and
   - How can you help the community reach its goals?

The non-scientific survey is open to anyone and the survey tool cannot
identify individual respondents. The survey includes a request for a Zip
code to help identify any geographic trends in responses. Participants are
encouraged to consider the “Springfield area” as the city itself and the
urbanized area immediately adjacent to the city.

The online survey will be posted at least through Jan. 31, 2010.

Any community or civic organizations that would still like to schedule a
Listening Tour meeting can call Executive Assistant Kathy Hardt at 864-1006
or email: kha...@springfieldmo.gov.

For more information, contact: Louise Whall, Director of Public Information,
864-1010.
