Health care reform is getting a lot of press coverage lately. It's an issue that is important to me and I'm writing to share some thoughts about it with you.
Right now, Congress is considering different proposals to reform the American health care system. Many in Washington believe that creating a government-run health plan is better than working to improve the current system. I think they are wrong - the best way to ensure quality, control costs and provide broader access is to build a stronger private-sector health care system. I've joined a group called the Health Action Network that is working to achieve that goal. I encourage you to join, too. Through the Health Action Network, I am able to stay informed about the ongoing public policy discussions. Its website also provides tools that make it easy for me to communicate with elected officials about health care issues. There is no cost to join or participate.
