I did some more hacking on the features_xwax branch. Please let me know
if this improves / ruins the behavior. the major change is in CONST
mode, which works like this:
* if you were in vinyl mode, and you switch to CONST, mixxx will keep
playing the track at the previous rate (same as before).
I can't reproduce this crash. I can't think of any code that would
cause mixxx to crash if someone is not using my skin.

Have you tried using another skin? I was using the Deere 1280x1024
preview by Jus. I commented out the new code you have for switching
the vinyl light signal and I think that might have fixed it for now.
I'll tell you how it goes.
If it does not crash anymore then we'll know what has to be fix
