b. Calculate Beat from end ie, fire event 16/32/64 etc beats from end
c. Convert time based code to beat based code so the cross fader event

I think its worth to spend this time, because it will improve the first
impression a lot if someone just tries out some application in Ubuntu.
I will do it without changing the current 1.10 GUI so translation an
