Otherwise you could activate it as an HID controller and make an HID
controller mapping, but that requires Mixxx to take full control of the
device.

I have a Nostromo N52 id like to use as a controller for mixxx, to
trigger samples etc, how is this possible, without mixxx taking my
entire actual usb keyboard? ignore the mouse portion, i kinda took
apart my n52.. and the mouse part isn't connected anymore.
