The portaudio (libportaudio-dev) in Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) was not
compiled with jack support. You will need to compile the latest
snapshot of PA (http://www.portaudio.com/archives/pa_snapshot_v19.tar.gz).
Compile it with ./configure --prefix=/usr (this will overwrite your

I 've just install the packages in debian sid and it's working fine. I
had various problems with mixxx from 1.4.1 to debian but with this
version everything just seems fine (except for a few bugs of course).
Unfortunately i can't say the same with xubuntu 7.10 where this

So we'll probably release beta1 this weekend. If I had to guess, and
this is a big guess, I would say beta->final will probably be around 2

As I'm editing files, I'll make an effort to clean up warnings before
the 1.6.0 final release.
In the meantime, I've updated the Ubuntu package and source tarball with
a bug fix I made last night. They're available in the usual spots:

There is a way to turn off those warnings. However if we're keen on
transitioning to pure Qt4 it might be better to leave it on.
I'd like to be able to turn on warnings as errors some day though, it
helps to find a lot of bugs.

Hi guys,
I've uploaded a release candidate of the beta1 .deb packages for
testing. If anyone can try it out and make sure it works, I'd appreciate
it.

There's also a Linux source tarball available here:
