Hi Tuukka, Hi Ilkka,
thank you for picking up this topic.
Here some unsorted comments:

Hello,
I've though how about using XSPF or similar playlist style abroach
because SQLite databases are not promised to be byte compatible
(allthougth they have been for ages and will be like for evermore) and
XSPF can be expanded with extensions (just lighter abroach).

Hi,
I think these two bugs should be implemented with a workflow like this:
- select a folder to export files to (‘create external mixxx library’ for
example), let’s say
/media/external/exported
- mixxx creates empty database to the location, for example
/media/external/exported/.mixxx/m
Hello,
Just thinking should it be JSON, XML or Sqlite file? JSON and XML is
supported by QT but config is XML so should it be like that?
Thanks,
Tuukka

I can't, no Facebook account.

+1 to this idea. I filed a bug about this some time ago in
Launchpad: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mixxx/+bug/1084759
I'd prefer if the data files were stored in a separate location
from the music files; I like my directories uncluttered, as I'm
sure many do.
Also, I wonder if the data would be nic

Think he wants to copy the files from one hdd onto another.
Tell him that :)
(and that may not work if the music is not in the same place on both
machines, right?)

You can make it work if you want move the machines.
just start Mixxx like that
mixxx --settingsPath /media/daniel/Musik/.mixxx
where .mixxx is a folder in your Musik directory on the external HDD.

persisting on the same machine or is he moving to another machine?
Obviously it won't work if he's moving to different computers, but they
should persist if they are on the same machine.

Storing cue points to the file tags is a very stupid idea from Traktor.
Ableton live has the right idea: it stores an .asd file along the original, for
example
folder/foo.mp3
folder/foo.mp3.asd
These small .asd files contain ableton specific track metadata. We could for
example create a .mixx
Seems he has problems with persisting the cue points. He also suggests
to store them directly in the mp3 file. He guesses that Tractor does so
to - if he opens a mp3 file on another PCs the points are still set.

Done. :)

Can you reply that Mixxx supports 32 cue points, even if he can only see
4 in the skin? He can assign them to a midi controller or keyboard
keys. Or he can edit the skin or find a skin that shows more cuepoints.
