I pushed this latest info up to Ubuntu Studio and I got someone to fix this. The package.ubuntu.com site is slow to update, but if someone can confirm that JACK is indeed fixed on amd64 for them, that would be helpful. Thanks again, massive community effort here to fix this problem. :) Albert O
