I think I have a new idea for a patch... :-)
Well, feel free to write some lines of documentation about it...
Hallo
I'm trying to get a reasonable DVD/TV output, and I'm having flickering
problems. I captured a PAL VHS source using a DC10+ and 1.6.1. My MJPEG file
has these attributes:
If you have VHS why dont you record at half size and the encode at have

That would speed up things, and you
I've asked a couple of questions on the list over the last few days, and have
been directed to features in CVS, which aren't in the stable 1.6.1 which I'm
using.
So, how stable is CVS these days? Heavy development, or ready for regular
users to start beta testing?

Anyone look at mythtv.org for PVR?
Looks really great, but if you have a non-v4l, ie, zoran based, card it's
unusable (since it hinges on software encoding). Same for DV. I suppose this
is realted to inablility to playback realtime while capturing even though
theoretically output to a card

The zoran driver is fully v4l compliant. Capturing using video4linux'
API is also supported (raw capture). You just need to do some kernel
memory tweaking since the

I can only comment on one thing:
I was thinking in terms of recording with DV OR zoran and playing back
*WHILE* recording.
Requirements (beyond what you specified):
I For Zoran
I For Zoran (rec) + Zoran for (play)
The zoran driver is fully v4l compliant. Capturing using video4linux'
memory tweaking since the zr360x7 can't handle non-contiguous (paged)
play fine with the zoran driver/cards.
I'm seeing you guys talking about zoran. Is this the Optibase
Videoplex

No, it's the zr36057/zr36067 chipset, which is used on
DC10+/Buz/LML33/etc. cards (hardware MJPEG codec boards).

Are you saying one process cannot play on one Zoran while recording on a

You may have the same problem, though8000 kbps video + 256 kbps audio 8192 kbps already, even without the extra space mplex needs.
For all the fun that DVDs promise, I have to say, I've found that for most things I'm happy with VCDs. (Not even SVCDsjust normal old VCDs.) They take 3 hours
