I went back to the old version of mjpegtools, 1.9.0 Mplex displays 2006/02/01 and mpeg2enc display 1.9.0 (3.0.0 - Beta 1) I re-encoded the same 84,120 frame video and this is what mplex gave: Average Bit Rate - 6,336,000 vs 5,017,600 with the current version Peak Bit Rate - 8,912,000 vs 9,274
