I bought my first DVD player (see Subject for type). It clearly states on vcdhelp.com that this player does NOT play SVCD but does play VCD and XVCD up to 4000Kb/s. I am aware that XVCD is labled as a "non-standard" mpeg1 video of resolutions up to SVCD. I suppose I can play with mpeg2enc -f2 options to try but wonder if anyone here would know of some good starting points for the -f2 to try.
I think that Robert Kesterson's post of a complete set of tools is very nice. I wish everyone would list their complete list of tools and known pros/cons of each: > And BTW, I do all of it under Linux. Canopus ADVC-100 for video capture, > kino for editing and special effects, smilutils for conversion to YUV4MPEG > format, mjpegtools for encoding, makedvd for layout creation, and then > growisofs (DVD+R) or cdrecord-prodvd (DVD-R) to burn the DVD. > ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: Thawte.com - A 128-bit supercerts will allow you to extend the highest allowed 128 bit encryption to all your clients even if they use browsers that are limited to 40 bit encryption.
