On my Openfietsmap a routable cyclemap of the Benelux, I use in the style file highway=pedestrian area=yes [0x08 road_class=0 road_speed=0 resolution 22 continue] It routes via the borders of pedestrian areas for pedestrians, so whats the difference with this patch? See
