yes, I think mkgmap does this already later, soit should be no problem to do
thesechanges right after style processing.
Any idea why there is no bot to fix that?

Hi Gerd,
I think you can perform standard cleaning for each name or label,
removing leading, trailing and duplicate spaces. Maybe there are even
more similar corrections, which could be applied.

Hi all,
due to bad CanVec imports many (> 1) streetnames in addr:street tags
have duplicated spaces, so that the name is not exactly like that
of the matching road.
Example:
"Rue Principale" instead of
"Rue Principale" appears 8470 times.
"Rue Notre-Dame Est" instead of
"Rue Notre-Dame
