I added mkgmap to my GitHub mirror on OpenStreetMap:
http://github.com/openstreetmap/mkgmap
It's just a git-svn conversion of trunk. Adding it there mainly for me
and others who want to follow the project.

This helps me debug potential zero length arc issues.

After upgrading from r1441 to r1572 using --map-features broke for me:

The map I generate of Iceland with mkgmap and --genarate-sea and
--remove-short-arcs got flooded between 25th ond 26th October.
If I just use the --generate-sea option the map is not
--remove-short-arcs I get a lot of RoadNetwork warnings but the map is
not flooded.
Here are the two .osm files:

I've written a free installation program for Garmin's MapSource. It's
aimed at the people who are maintaining Garmin map exports of the
OpenStreetMap database. A lot of these exports[1] don't have a
MapSource installer, some suggest proprietary solutions and some have
a unconfigurable BAT file incl

I'm going to Greece tomorrow and I noticed to my dismay that mkgmap's
transliteration tables for the Greek alphabet were totally missing.
So I hacked up a small Perl script which uses the Unicode::UCD and the
Text::Unidecode modules to fillin the blanks:

I was generating a map of Potsdam with mkgmap from an .osm file which
I had produced by making multiple API requests in JOSM as no extract
was available (and XAPI is down).
This resulted in a JOSM .osm file with multiple bounds elements.
mkgmap couldn't handle this and clipped the map to one of th
