Hi,
I'm trying to create two variant maps for Ukraine.
The first one should show the labels in cyrillc letter. This works quite
fine using mkgmap r2580 and the following command line options
--code-page=65001 --name-tag-list=name:uk,name,name:ru,name:en,name:de
Precedence is given to the
Hi,
I was observing that that capitalized names on eg. buildings like VW
etc. show up in upper and lower case on my Oregon 550.
So I played around and tried some different combinations of upper /
lower case names.
Here is the outcome on the Oregon:

an algorithm that reduces only those points that are not
needed, but I see no way
to do this in splitter because it has to store too much information for
that.
So, let's see what happens if we write all points and ways...

Hi,
yes you are right, this is a splitter problem which
is already known.
As you can see in your example, the lake is split in a way that requires it
to be split more than once along the bounding rectangle.

Hi,
I ran into a problem with flooded areas around the river Rhine.
A europe.osm.pbf from geofabrik.de dated 2011-07-31 was used.
I extracted a contiguous area containing roughly Germany and France
using osmosis.
This extract was spit up into 369 parts using tile splitter r179.
After they have
