Steve,
r2785 does not seem to work with mkgmap:line2poitype in the poi style.
For example when I want to add tollroad=yes
lines file:
highway=* toll=yes bicycle!=no service!=parking_aisle toll:bicycle!=no
{set tollroad=yes}
points file:
highway=* tollroad=yes mkgmap:line2poitype=mid
Hi minko,
if I remember correct --add-pois-to-* copies only the original data to
the new created objects.

Hi Minko,
points are processed before lines. I think it cannot work. Did it ever?

Hi Minko,
just a hint: Move these general rules to seperate files and include
them in each style-file of point, lines, etc.

When a tag is added, it can trigger an exists rules.
Eg:
highway=residential { add test=yes }
test=* [0x1]
highway=residential [0x2]
Should result in 0x1 and not 0x2.
