There was was a problem related to Ubuntu and Latex in one of the earlier version. I'm not sure if Ubuntu already ships the version with the fix. One option is to install the latest Mnemosyne version from our side yourself (i.e. outside of Ubuntu's package manager), the other one is to edit .m
