I haven't done this myself in Mnemosyne, but you could also probably
edit the card by using "width" and "height" parameters in the img tag
to force the image to a size small enough to display properly with
your minuscule vertical resolution. I assume it's supported by the
rendering engine.

As a workaround you can use the hotkeys, such as 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, to
rate the cards.
