I'll also add a shout out to the amazing volunteers who run and maintain
OTRS, without whom the app would probably not be as stable as it is. We've
been using OTRS to collect feedback and crash reports, and the
admins/community there has been most helpful. Special shoutout to
l of them, but responding can be slow/nonexistant
sometimes - simply because of a lot of repeats. We are trying to get
better at responding though.
They've already informed our roadmap a fair bit, and helped us debug
plenty of things.

for a similar thing on mobile web and had the OTRS folks kick mobile out

It's a fix in the *build* system, so should be available when they
make a release next. Not sure when that is - there is no set release
schedule as such. Once that is out, people on any android system
should be able to use current methods (there'e a Change Locale app

Although it can be problematic UX wise - non AJAX login on non-https
and AJAX logins on https could be confusing. Although, if we *are*
being MITM'd with http, the MITM'er can just insert JS that pretends
to have AJAX login...
