now if any1 has a rooted phone there is another app called screen
stand-by this is a app for advansed users only u can control the
voltage supplied to your screen so if u dont know anything about it
dont try this app u risk bricking your phone permenently screen filter

Thanks Austin, I too installed this app and configured it to the
lowest brightness possible, now I hope to get some additional battery
life, also now I can use my phone without getting inputs from sighted
folks :)

Thanks for the clarification. My device comes with Android 4.2, so it
will not be an issue. Moreover, I never go for third party apps than

As per the suggestion of Austin, ScreenFilter has been installed on my
device and is working fine here. Anyway thanks for your advice too.

Thank you for confirming the same. Will surely give a try, but before
that let me please know the method to bring back the device to its
normal mode and also is there any drawback if I enable this app on my
