if you are updating it directly from the phone it is 154 MB.
but for this you will have to use wifi connection. otherwise download
it using itunes, which will download complete package which will be
somewhere near 1.2 GB.

use your wifi connection. which only updates the updated part.
but if you update it using your computer through itunes, it will
download the complete software. which is around 1.2 GB.
