That's great news. If we had such luck with the fingerprint reader
on the new thinkpads, my
Hi
I have Arch on Lenovo p50s with 1199:9079 Sierra Wireless modem. Situation
is same, can connect but no traffic.
I am using old modem manager but patched libqmi-qmi-over-mbim from AUR. I
can't test builds on my laptop.

Note that an old modemmanager won't try the FCC auth command via
QMI-over-MBIM; you'd need to manually do it yourself using qmicli
before MM tries to connect the modem.

Yes, I am doing it manually for now with qmicli -p -d /dev/cdc-wdm1
--device-open-mbim --dms-set-fcc-authentication.
I'll compile and install new modem manager from git today.

So I apologize if this is the wrong place for questions like this one.
Anyway, I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad T460
Any way it doesn't work still but I used
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/libqmi-qmi-over-mbim-netctl/ to set up
patched libqmi and after you can use git modemmanager to connect.

Hmm. I feel like I'm the only to have gotten it working. Samo, I'm
using the same Modem but on the x260(same vendor/did) I used the
libqmi-qmi-over-mbim patches, and modemmanager to connect. Then I
needed to manually setup my iface with iproute2. If you look for the
message thread I started on the
