Amy,
I don't know how old you are, but by the maturity of your
messages, I'd say you're about 15 and living in an all white
suburb somewhere. Kids pick on other kids all the fucking time
whether it's because they are fat, ugly, the child of same-sex
parents, dumber than the rest, multi-racial, for having
the name Melvin, or whatever.
I tend to believe that gay and lesbian parents have the
potential to raise great, well-adjusted kids, with the ability
to handle whatever crap dimwitted kids or adults would throw
at them. Why? Well, the chance of an unwanted pregnancy is
almost none. Adoption is nearly impossible unless they've
jump through a million hoops. So they will tend to be the most
prepared, involved parents possible.
In addition, you contend that society won't accept them so
their lives will be hell. Hang out in Boston, or Cambridge,
or San Francisco for a while before you presume that that the
rest of the world is as close-minded as yourself.
