I was listening to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon at work (just cause it's been 10 or so years since I head it) and I noticed a **tremendous similarity** between 764-HERO (well, from Get Here and Stay anyway) and the Floyd. So now if I had to equate 764 with anyone it'd be Pink Floyd (w/o all the electronic frills of course).
