You see, the problem was that i started drinking like 5 hours before the show started. I was well on my way to wasted when i got to the Showbox, i fucking missed Duster, who i really wanted to see, and my date was pissing me off. "Buy us more drinks!" uhg. Anyway Love as Laughter was ok, but not as anamated as usual. The last time i saw them they were really upbeat and happy and charismatic an' stuff. But last night they were kinda mediocre. Whatever. Ok, rush the stage right now cause Isaac just came out on stage and plugged in his guitar. I tried to get right up next to the stage, and got close enough to set my tape recorder up there, but i ended up being one "row" behind, so i was getting humped from all sides. Anyway you don't care about that... The boys looked really, really bored, and tired. Through the entire show, only Eric even seemed to be having fun. They were super tight. Every song almost album perfect which is NOT kool as far as i'm concerned. The other guitarist was WAY too loud, like twice as loud as the vocals. You couln't even hear isaac sing on some songs cause of this guy. I liked the sound much better when only isaac played guitar, cause you can't make it sound like the album on one guitar so he had to be creative and therefore much more interesting to watch. The audience was energetic for about ten feet from the stage but the rest of the place was all crossedarms and cocked heads. Not too many people were dancing (but i was). Isaac told no jokes, played no out-of-the-ordinary songs, and only talked to one guy in the audience once. These annoying as fucking hell girls were all "Isaac! Isaac!" and it's gonna be worse tonight at the all ages show. I was too drunk to remember a set list, and my date fuckin' "borrowed" the tape, so i dunno exactly what songs happened. Ummm... Third planet Doin the cockroach Cowboy dan Paper thin walls what people are made of ummm. ack..it to hard to remember...mostly the same as the set lists from the rest of the tour..but they did NOT play: Tiny cites Lounge Dramamine Crazy Gnome (despite my screams) Tundra/desert Stars are projectors Broke all nite diner or any other song that i was dying to hear live.
