went to an amazing guided by voices show last night at oberlin. ted leo
and the holy childhood opened up. both are pretty interesting. ted leo
is pretty funny. if you get a chance to go see ted play you should check
him out. he uses a reel to reel tape player as his backing band. he
writes very cool pop songs though...kinda like if lou barlow was cool and
was a solo artist and wrote better lyrics.

holy childhood were interesting, too...like rolling stones with a bit more
punk rock. ted leo's brother is the frontman (i think)..he looks a bit
like mick jagger.

guided by voices were fantastic. they promised to play until security
kicked them off. their set list was two whole pages, must have been about
50 songs. they almost made it but the lights turned on at 1:30, about 8
songs from finishing. they played "i am a scientist" and called it a
night. i got three rolls of film shot, but my ears fucking hurt like
crazy.

this brings me to my question which is what kind of earplugs should i get?
i dont know anything about them really. i just bought six foam pairs at
the drugstore today. they say they bring audio down to 29db. is this
decent? should i invest in stronger ones? ok thats it

thanks
tyler
