small doc typo...

2003-07-21 Thread Shannon Eric Peevey
Hi!

Just perusing:

http://perl.apache.org/docs/2.0/devel/core/apache_integration.html#The_Link_Between_mod_perl_and_httpd

and found a small typo.

STANDARD20_MODULE_STUFF is a standard macro defined in
httpd-2.0/include/http_config.h. Currently its main use *if* for
attaching Apache version magic numbers,

Probably mean, Currently its main use *is *for...

thanks,

[Somewhat OT] Typo in the guide

2001-10-03 Thread Issac Goldstand

I actually tried to send this directly to Sats -
twice. But mail seemed to be bouncing, so I suppose I'll have to do this
through the list...

Firstly - the typo:
 the mod_perl porting page contains info
about setting HTTP headers - but the guide says to do $r-headers_out, when
the function is $r-header_out (w/o the s). This might also be in the
book, which brings me to issue #2:

I recently lost my bookmarks, can you please resend
the URL to the book - I remember my user/pass (I think so, anyway), but need the
URL

Thanks,
 Issac

PS. Stas: I think mail bounced because you (or some
RBL you use) blacklisted my ISP. The error was "Service unavailable (554
m1.bezeqint.net[192.115.106.45]: Client host rejected: Access
denied)"
Internet is a wonderful mechanism for making a fool
ofyourself in front of a very large audience.

Typo crashes Apache process

2000-09-14 Thread Lupe Christoph

Hi!

Sorry, I did not check if this is known problem.

I recently forgot to follow through with a name change (equivalent to
renaming  Some::SimpleModule to Some::Simple::Module). I moved the
file, but forgot to change the package name.

Here is a much smaller version of my module that shows the problem:

package Some::SimpleModule;

use Apache::Constants qw(:http);

sub handler {
  return DECLINED;
}

1;

Add this to a standard http.conf.default:

Location /test
  SetHandler perl-script
  PerlHandler Some::Simple::Module
/Location

Then try accessing http://localhost/test.

In the error log with full trace on:

running 1 server configured stacked handlers for /test...
calling {PerlHandler-[0]} (1 total)
perl_setup_env...26 keys
mod_perl: inc seqno to 1 for /test
Some::Simple::Module symbol table not found, loading...

(Getting the coredump in Solaris requires some version dependent
fiddling. This is Solaris 8, where I just use coreadm.)

This is the stack trace from the core:

I believe this crash happens because sv_2cv returns a NULL pointer.
Then, CvFLAGS(cv) is used to access the flags field of a nonexistent
structure.

Sorry, I have no idea what to patch here. Holding for the Gurus ... ;-)
Probably this should be caught in perl_call_handler().
