mp2 undefined symbols on Mac OS X 10.2

I'm having problems getting mp2 to install on my Mac OS X 10.2 Server. the make test returns the following: ..dyld: /usr/bin/perl Undefined symbols: _perl_get_sv for pretty much every single test. Of course this makes me think my perl installation is broken. I'm attempting to rebuild it.
