his a bit and don't seem to be the only victim of this
problem, but am not versed enough in Apache or Perl to understand what's
going on. Several people seem to suggest or assert Apache 2.4 doesn't
work with mod_perl...!?

[ error] apxs:Error: Invalid query string `MPM_NAME'.
[ error] Failed to obtain the MPM name.
I reinstalled Apache adding --with-mpm=prefork just in case but got same
result?
