After compiling SSLeay-0.9.0b, apache_1.3.1 and mod_ssl-2.0.8-1.3.1
I ran "make certificate TYPPE=test" and got the following message:

I had a similar problem, and Ralf recommended upgrading to Apache 1.3.3
and mod_ssl 2.0.13. I did this and it at least solved that problem for
me...
